CLIX - PRO BONO PORTAL

CLIX is user-friendly, bi-lingual, online and free, allowing impact organisations (NGOs, foundations and social enterprises) to request legal support, representation and advice for themselves or their beneficiary clients, and where lawyers can find and volunteer for pro bono legal matters. 

Our Impact  
At the end of 2024, the CLIX portal had 106 law firms signed up and received over 132 requests for legal help. 5 NGOs have been trained and onboarded and are using CLIX.  

Of the 132 pro bono opportunities that have been posted on the CLIX portal, 114 have been matched to lawyers. This represents a 86% successful matching rate - evidence that CLIX is working. 

The Need
We believe that having access to lawyers and legal information reduces poverty and hardship and that lawyers want to help but don’t always know where to start.  With a fragmented pro bono ecosystem plagued by inconsistent and outdated data, our 16,000 NGOs and their vulnerable clients often don’t know how to access free legal resources.   

How we Help
In 2022 in partnership with PILNet, we customised the existing CLIX platform, already in use in Australia, UK, Germany and Ireland, to the needs of Hong Kong, and CLIX was introduced to the Hong Kong market in May 2023.
